Humanitarian Hackathon Closing Ceremony

The Humanitarian Hackathon is a two-day event designed to create technology-driven solutions for the most pressing humanitarian challenges. International and Belgian humanitarian organisations, donors, large companies, startups, scientists and engineers will be creating ideas and prototypes for solutions to 6 different challenges contributed by the World Food Programme. 

You are kindly invited to attend the closing proceedings where the teams will briefly introduce their work in a plenary session followed by a closing reception. To confirm your attendance please fill in this form. 

Proceedings commence at 5 pm.

4:30 pm: Guests welcome

5:00 pm: Final presentations (plenary). All the teams briefly introduce their project. Followed by closing remarks. Special guest Minister Alexander De Croo.

Humanitarian Hackathon Application Form

The Humanitarian Hackathon is a two-day event designed to generate solutions for today’s urgent humanitarian challenges.  International and Belgian humanitarian organisations, donors, large companies, startups, academics and talented individuals will come together to generate new ideas, build prototypes and launch new projects that could help save millions of lives around the world.

The Humanitarian Hackathon is an initiative of the Belgian Ministry for Development Cooperation, Digital Agenda and Telecommunications, and is organised by the World Food Program (WFP) and Hack Belgium Labs.

The hackathon welcomes participation from organisations and individuals who have the skills and capability to create, deliver or fund innovative solutions, such as:

  • Humanitarian organisations
  • Technology startups and mature companies of all sizes
  • Social enterprises
  • Small, Medium and Large companies (CSR)
  • Companies specialised in supporting the Humanitarian sector
  • Donors (governmental and non-governmental)
  • Investors
  • Academics/scientists
  • Professional designers, developers and engineers interested in building solutions for the humanitarian aid sector

Hack Belgium Expert & Supporting Organisation Sign-Up Form

HACK BELGIUM - 28, 29, 30 March 2019

Hack Belgium collaborates with over 200 experts and 100 Supporting Organisations to build a program of Challenges, Workshops, a Science & Technology Experience Zone, Mentoring and post-Hack Belgium team support.  In this form we’d love to hear more about your expertise and see how you can get involved.

Filling it out will take you between 2-5 minutes.

The final submission deadline is 15 February 2019, 11:59pm CET, but please submit as early as possible so that we can best accomodate your wishes.
